Meet Dr. Davis
Meet Dr. James Lynn Davis
Dr. James Lynn Davis attended Bradley University where he got his undergraduate degree in Biology. He earned his DMD degree from the School of Dental Medicine at Southern Illinois University in Alton where, at the time, he was a member of first graduating class of the new dental school. Dr. Davis served as a dental resident at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis, MO in 1975-76 before relocating to Peoria, IL.

About Dr. James L. Davis
I’m a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Association, and the Peoria District Dental Society which I served as president. I’m also a member of the Peoria City/County Board of Health. In addition, I serve as a faculty member of the OSF St. Francis General Dentistry Residency Program. I serve as a volunteer dentist at the Peoria County Health Department, Heartland Community Health Clinic, and Dental Lifeline of Illinois.
An avid Bradley sports fan, I met my wife, Susan, at Bradley, and both of our sons are Bradley graduates. For relaxation, I enjoy playing tennis, having served in local and state tennis organizations.
Davis Dental Diary
As a dentist, I find it important to keep my patients up-to-date on topics that I get the most questions about. In my blog, I discuss topics related to How To Evaluate a Dentist, Correct Brushing and Flossing, Veneers, Implants, Teeth Whitening, Fluoride, Reducing Cavities, Oral Health, Teeth Grinding, Dry Mouth, Crowns, Sensitive Teeth, Bridges, Plaque, and much more. Take a look around to see if I can answer your questions.
Why I Became a Dentist
If you want to go even deeper into the heart of my dental practice, read my little article “Why I Became a Dentist” on my Davis Dental Diary blog. Listen to “High Tech Dentistry: Interview with Dr. James Lynn Davis, DMD” audio podcast on BlogTalkRadio (about 26 minutes in length). I explain how I got into dentistry, what’s new in dental services, and how high tech devices give patients more comfort and better results.
